From the moment we stepped aboard AmaSerena, the crew set the tone. They weren't doing the surface-level small talk I'd gotten used to from hospitality staff on other trips; they were genuinely engaged, asking real questions and remembering the answers. What surprised me even more were the other guests. So many of them were returning to AmaWaterways, and they welcomed us immediately, wanting to know our story. As an introvert, I expected to feel intimidated meeting new people in a small setting like that. I didn't, not once.
Nakita and I are both particular about where we stay; she actually travels with an ultraviolet flashlight to check for cleanliness, no exaggeration. Our stateroom passed her inspection. We loved being able to open the French balcony doors, turn up the heat a little, and just watch the countryside go by.
