Along the Magdalena’s jungle-lined banks, scarlet ibises take flight and Afro-Caribbean traditions thrive in riverside villages, making each stop as vibrant as the next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Newly launched in 2025, AmaMagdalena is AmaWaterways’ first ship on Colombia’s Magdalena River, carrying just 60 guests in 30 staterooms. Every room features a twin balcony for taking in views. Colombian-inspired décor and modern comforts set the tone on board, while regionally rooted cuisine celebrates Latin American flavors alongside familiar Western favorites. Guests can relax at the pool on the Luna Deck, recharge in the fitness room or spa, and enjoy nightly music and cultural performances in the lounge. Shore excursions include visits to colonial towns such as Mompox, floating villages like Nueva Venecia, and wildlife-rich nature tours.

AmaMagdalena offers the Main Restaurant, where menus highlight Latin American cuisine alongside Western favorites, as well as an intimate al fresco specialty dining experience. Complimentary beer and wine are included with lunch and dinner, and vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs are happily accommodated.

AmaMagdalena has 30 staterooms and suites across five categories. All have climate control, flat-screen TVs, spacious bathrooms, and a desk and chair. One of the ship’s most unique features is that every room and suite includes a twin balcony — one French balcony and one outside balcony — perfect for taking in views from the comfort of your room.

Yes. AmaMagdalena is fully air-conditioned in all staterooms, restaurants, and lounges, with climate-controlled corridors to ensure comfort while sailing through Colombia’s warm climate.

Your cruise includes all meals, beer and wine with lunch and dinner, a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour, Wi-Fi, and guided excursions in every port. Premium beverages, gratuities, and optional tours may be additional, but most of what you need for a seamless journey is already included.

AmaMagdalena sails Colombia’s Magdalena River, a vital waterway that flows from the Andes to the Caribbean. Along the way, itineraries include excursions to charming small towns, Afro-Caribbean cultural experiences, floating villages, and nature excursions.

Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available in your room and in all public areas, making it easy to stay connected, share photos, or check in with loved ones during your journey.

On rare occasions, water levels can affect river cruising. If this happens, AmaWaterways arranges alternatives such as sister ships, overland transfers, or adjusted schedules, always prioritizing comfort and continuity for guests.
