Itinerary

Day 1

Lanterns and Living Traditions in Hoi An

Fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang International Airport, then take a motorcoach transfer to your hotel in Hoi An, a charming riverside town known for its lantern-lit streets and centuries-old architecture. After settling in, visit the Thanh Ha Pottery Village alongside a knowledgeable guide to see artisans handcrafting ceramics using traditional techniques passed down for generations and inspired the inclusion of Thanh Ha pottery on the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2019.

Day 2

Old Town Wanderings and Culinary Craft

Join a guided walking tour through Hoi An’s UNESCO-designated Old Town. Nestled on the banks of the Thu Bon River, Hoi An was a center of trade throughout the 16th century. Learn more about this rich history with stops at the Japanese Bridge, the Tan Ky House, and the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. Then, take part in a hands-on Vietnamese cooking class and enjoy the dishes you prepare for lunch. In the evening, participate in a floating lantern ceremony*, a signature local tradition that lights up the Thu Bon River, symbolizing good fortune, wisdom, and heritage preservation.

Day 3

The Scenic Route to Vietnam's Imperial City

After breakfast, a motorcoach will transport you from Hoi An to Vietnam’s former imperial capital Hue, traveling north along the scenic Hai Van Pass to Hue. Visit the Hue Historic Citadel, part of the UNESCO-listed Complex of Hue Monuments, and admire its moats, gates, and royal temples. In the evening, experience a traditional imperial-inspired dinner at Ancient Hue restaurant, where guests are invited to dress in ornate royal garments inspired by emperors and queens.

Day 4

Pagodas, Tombs, and the Perfume River

Start your day with a visit to the Thien Mu (Heaven Fairy Lady) Pagoda, Hue’s most iconic landmark, built in 1601. You’ll also have the chance to visit the tomb of Emperor Ming Mang, who ruled between 1820 and 1841. Set alongside the Perfume River, this UNESCO World Heritage site is best known for its symmetric arrangement and seamless integration with the natural landscape. Later, fly back to Ho Chi Minh City and check in to your premium hotel.

Day 5

Return to Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you check out and transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
