Joanne Weir and her production team were on board AmaKristina in Fall 2017 filming several episodes for her newest PBS series. We are very pleased to welcome her back for a second river cruise which will take place on the Taste of Bordeaux – Culinary Cruise Hosted by Joanne Weir departing July 26, 2018. Here are a few words Joanne shared about her experience on her AmaWaterways river cruise:
“I travel a lot and for me, this recent river cruise with AmaWaterways was beyond incredible! I love the fact that you don't have to drive a car from city to city or pack and unpack every day. For a whole week, you have a home away from home on a luxurious river ship in a beautifully appointed stateroom and the quality and variety of the food and wine are excellent. I can’t say enough about the warm, friendly service - there isn’t a detail that AmaWaterways hasn’t thought of. I am so excited to return in July to host the Bordeaux cruise as this region holds special personal memories for me. I can’t think of a better way to experience the food and wine diversity of this region than on board an AmaWaterways ship."
Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the celebrated chef both on board and during shore excursions exploring local culinary and viticulture highlights of the Bordeaux region. The author of 18 cookbooks, including her latest, Kitchen Gypsy, will also give two presentations highlighting the regional cooking and some of her favorite recipes.
Your luxurious home-away-from-home on board AmaDolce provides a destination in itself, offering incredibly spacious river view staterooms, luxurious amenities, critically acclaimed dining, best-in-class service, a wide choice of daily tours and much, much more. The itinerary will take you through the Bordeaux region of France, one of the world’s undisputed premier wine areas and you can also extend your cruise with optional pre- and post-cruise land programs in Paris and the Loire Valley. Iconic chateaux, timeless vineyards and wine tastings paired with regional delicacies await as you make you leisurely way down the Garonne and Dordogne rivers.
