Itinerary

Day 1

A Peaceful Welcome in Parklike Gardens

Arrive in Johannesburg and meet your AmaWaterways guide before transferring to the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel. Settle into its parklike surroundings, known for tranquil gardens and a renowned spa, and spend free time at your leisure.

Day 2

Soweto's Legacy and Paths to Freedom

After breakfast, join a tour of Soweto, the heart of South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement. Visit its historic neighborhoods, walk a portion of Nelson Mandela’s former community, and stop at a youth center and school in Kliptown. After a local lunch, continue to the Apartheid Museum to deepen your understanding of the country’s history and the people who helped shape a new future. Return to the hotel for free time before gathering for a multi-course dinner.
