Rhine & Danube River Updates

As river conditions continue to evolve on sections of the Rhine and Danube, we are proactively making select itinerary adjustments to ensure guests continue to enjoy a comfortable and seamless river cruise experience.

Adjustments may include changes to ports, embarkation or disembarkation locations, motorcoach transfers, ship scheduling, or other itinerary elements. Our teams are closely monitoring river conditions and working proactively to make any necessary adjustments while maintaining the exceptional experience our guests expect. Guests on affected sailings will be contacted individually via email.

Read more about how we're handling this situation.

Egypt Cruises – Secrets of Egypt & the Nile

Our 11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile cruise and Cairo land program is operating normally and remains unaffected by regional conflict. All departures aboard AmaDahlia and AmaLilia, along with our optional Jordan, Dubai, and Alexandria land extensions, are operating as scheduled for the new season beginning in September. AmaNubia, our newest Nile ship, is set to launch as planned in November.

Travel Notices

Important: Colombia immigration registration form

All travelers entering Colombia are strongly encouraged to fill out the CheckMig immigration registration form. Filling out this form speeds up the immigration control process, ensuring a more seamless journey.

The CheckMig immigration registration form must be filled out between 72 hours prior to your arrival in Colombia and at least one hour prior to your arrival.

There is no cost associated with filling out this form. To access the CheckMig website and fill out your form for your Magdalena River cruise through Colombia, click here.

Ukraine

Our experienced operations team is closely following the situation in Ukraine. If any adjustments to our Eastern European itinerary are necessary, we will advise our travel partners and guests.

Health and Safety Protocols

Our commitment to the health and safety of our guests and crew remains of the utmost importance to us. We want to reassure you that we are working with global health authorities and local governments in the U.S. and around the world to follow all the most up-to-date health and safety protocols, some of which we have summarized for you below. Our experienced staff and crew have undergone special training and will be advised and guided by a Public Health Officer. As always, our crew will be on hand to take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy your much-anticipated river cruise vacation.

Travelers are responsible for ensuring they meet the travel entry requirements of each country visited during the river cruise.

Please note: As new information becomes available, the Health and Safety Protocols below will be updated. Further details will be provided in your Electronic Travel Documents prior to departure.

  • Masks remain a personal choice for guests who wish to wear them. AmaWaterways does not conduct Covid testing on board our ships. If a guest self-tests and chooses to report a positive result to us, the protocol is that isolation and wearing a mask is voluntary. However, we will not allow them to take any long-haul coach transfer with other guests.
  • We will have ample hand sanitizers available throughout the ship and their frequent use is required by all guests and crew. Our crew has implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting measures throughout the ship.
  • We use state-of-the-art fan coil air conditioning units; there is no recirculating of air among staterooms. The air is always fresh and clean as all staterooms, fitness, massage and hair salon areas are equipped with state-of-the-art individual air handling units (AHU) plus fan coil air conditioning units that are located in the ceiling inside the staterooms above the entry area. The main public areas – lounge and restaurants – have their own high-quality air-fog system to continuously ensure cool air.
  • Our dining service will be compliant with current food and beverage safety recommendations.
  • Our biking and hiking tours provide wonderful opportunities to enjoy fresh air and exercise. Throughout Europe and Asia, we provide a variety of onboard wellness activities led by professionally trained Wellness Hosts. Whenever weather permits, these small-group classes will be held on our spacious open-air Sun Decks.
  • In the event that masks are recommended by local authorities, our onboard gift shops fleetwide will offer a limited supply for purchase.

We are continuously monitoring the updates from global health authorities and local governments in the U.S. and around the world. These temporary conditions are subject to change or withdrawal at any time. Please contact us with any questions or see our Travel Advisory FAQ.

*Enhanced protocols are subject to change by local authorities and may vary in certain destinations.
