Itinerary

Day 1

A Warm Welcome to the Mother City

Arrive in Cape Town, a city framed by mountains and sea. Meet your AmaWaterways representative at the airport and transfer to the Cape Grace Hotel. Get to know your Tour Director and fellow travelers during a Welcome Reception.

Day 2

Dramatic Coastlines and Penguin Shores

Set out on a full-day exploration of the Cape Peninsula, one of the world’s most scenic routes. Travel along the Atlantic seaboard past the 12 Apostles, Hout Bay, and Chapman’s Peak before reaching the Cape of Good Hope within Table Mountain National Park. Visit Boulders Beach to see its colony of African penguins, and enjoy lunch overlooking the turquoise waters of False Bay. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 3

Wine Country or Island History—Your Choice

Choose between two full-day excursions highlighting different sides of Cape Town. Wine enthusiasts can ride the cableway to Table Mountain for panoramic views before heading to the Cape Winelands for tastings and a vineyard lunch. Alternatively, take a ferry to Robben Island for a powerful tour led by a former inmate, then visit the colorful Bo Kaap neighborhood and ascend Table Mountain by cable car.

Day 4

From Mountain to River

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. From there, continue to the Chobe River, where tender boats carry you across to the Zambezi Queen on the Namibia side. Settle into your suite and take in the river views before joining your fellow travelers for a Welcome Cocktail Reception and Dinner.
