Voted Best River Cruise Line

It’s always thrilling to receive an award! It really is a tremendous honor, and each one that we receive is meaningful and humbling at the same time.

Last week we reached a milestone that I’m extremely excited about.

AmaWaterways was recognized with the Best River Cruise Line Award for 2014 at Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas.

It’s the third year in a row that we’ve won the award, voted upon by the agency members of the Virtuoso luxury travel network.

Virtuoso does such a great job at bringing together top travel experts from around the globe. This year’s event broke prior records, with more than 4,000 attending from nearly 100 different countries.

As always, it was an action-packed week filled with meetings, training sessions, receptions and press events.

But it was the informal encounters that meant the most to me.

Everywhere I went, I had terrific opportunities to meet with all the travel advisors that were there. It was wonderful speaking with everyone, whether I was meeting someone for the first time or catching up with an old friend.
We were also able to participate in one-on-one meetings (Virtuoso is famous for these) to talk more about AmaWaterways.

I was touched and encouraged by so much interest and determination to find the best river cruise experience for their clients. This kind of recognition — and the prestigious award — are quite a testament to the achievements of our dedicated, hard-working team.

Each year, Virtuoso’s Travel Week revolves around a central theme. This year, the theme was “enriching lives through human connection.” It was something that rang true especially for all of us at AmaWaterways. As a family-owned and operated business, we always put people first – they really are the heart and soul of our company.
