IN CELEBRATION OF WINE

AmaWaterways has customized over 30 "In Celebration of Wine" theme cruises to showcase the acclaimed wine regions along the Danube, Douro, Mosel, Rhine, Rhone and Seine Rivers in 2013 & 2014. These special sailings feature renowned hosts and include complimentary lectures, wine tastings and excursions to historic vineyards and cellars. Passengers will learn about the regions' centuries-old wine traditions and sample award-winning vintages. They will also enjoy exclusive wine-themed excursions, such as a traditional "Heuriger" tasting of new wine in the villages of Grinzing and Neustift on the outskirts of Vienna; an introduction to Alsatian wines in the “Capital of Alsatian Wine,” Colmar, France and an unforgettable "Oktoberfest" in the village of Vilshofen created specifically for our passengers. AmaWaterways executives will accompany each cruise, in addition to celebrity wine hosts from some of the top wineries in the U.S.

Celebrated Hosts Share their Love of Wine

Celebrate the incomparable wine culture of Europe this fall on our exclusive “In Celebration of Wine” cruises. Join celebrity wine hosts on eight unique cruises showcasing the acclaimed wine regions of the Danube, Douro, Mosel, Rhine, Rhone and Seine Rivers. Mix and mingle with these celebrated wine hosts as you learn first-hand about the wine culture, heritage and traditions of Europe’s most historic wineries. These very special sailings will feature hosts such as Christopher Silva of St. Francis Winery and Vineyards in Sonoma County; Barry Wiss of Trinchero Family Estates in Napa Valley and representatives from Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, CA.

I loved being able to tour vineyards and sample fantastic wine, along with delicious pairings at dinner, while on my already lovely river cruise. It made the experience that much more enjoyable.
