In answer to our guests’ growing desire to explore more undiscovered corners of the world, we developed a new division - AmaVoyages - with itineraries in Africa, Portugal, Vietnam, Cambodia and Russia. AmaVoyages ships have onboard amenities and services that differ somewhat from our European fleet, yet these newly built or redesigned vessels deliver the highest available standards in these locations. Staffed by rigorously trained English-speaking crews, these elegant ships provide a serene haven for our guests. Our expertly guided land programs are among the best in the industry, and we also take great pride in facilitating uniquely authentic cultural encounters, such as visits to lively markets, demonstrations by local artisans, and music and dance performances. Along the way, we treat our guests to delicious, regionally-inspired cuisine. AmaVoyages journeys are ideal for intrepid travelers seeking novelty and adventure in these fascinating countries.

Africa AmaWaterways is proud to be the only river cruise company in Africa to offer both river and land-based safari programs. For our most intrepid AmaWaterways guests, we set out to create a truly unique journey - a classic safari experience plus a scenic wildlife cruise. We have four different wildlife cruise & safari programs, all of which include a 4-night stay aboard the beautiful Zambezi Queen. This modern “eco-ship” offers deluxe accommodations, fine dining and an excellent vantage point for game-viewing. Following your cruise, you’ll spend two full days at the legendary Victoria Falls before setting off on a meticulously planned land program - Discover Africa, Stars of South Africa, Rivers & Rails, or Golden Trails of East Africa.

Vietnam and Cambodia Our “Vietnam, Cambodia & the Riches of the Mekong” cruise is one of our most exotic and unforgettable journeys. Marvel at ancient temples, mist-covered mountains and colorful floating markets along the Mekong River as you travel through two of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful countries, Vietnam and Cambodia. Along the way, visit a Buddhist monastery, the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh, and try your hand at the delicate art of rice paper-making.
