AMAWATERWAYS PRESIDENT RUDI SCHREINER TO SPEAK AT THE 2012 INTERNATIONAL LUXURY TRAVEL MARKET

Top River Cruise Line Executive Joins Panel Discussion “Demographic Changes in the Cruise Market”

CHATSWORTH, CA - (Nov. 8, 2012) - Award-winning river cruise line AmaWaterways’ President & Co-Owner Rudi Schreiner will participate in a panel discussion at the 2012 International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes, France, held from Dec. 3-6, 2012. The invitation-only four-day event will bring together the world’s most sought-after collection of elite experiences for international luxury travel buyers at Le Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

In the “Demographic Changes in the Cruise Market” panel discussion on December 3, Schreiner will be joined by Aqua Expeditions’ Chief Executive Officer Francesco Galli Zugaro, Valerie Wilson Travel Co-President & Co-Owner Kimberly Wilson Wetty and Silversea Cruises’ President of the Americas Ellen Bettride.

“The ILTM features the crème de la crème of luxury travel partners and is an excellent forum for companies to network on a global scale,” said Schreiner. “I’m honored to be involved in the panel discussion alongside other cruise industry leaders. It’s going to be a great conversation with many new insights and ideas.”

Moderated by Virtuoso Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Matthew Upchurch, the panelists will discuss how the industry has widened its appeal to younger travelers. The cruise market has traditionally attracted an older clientele and the panel will address how the industry is adapting to new demographic shifts.

Schreiner will discuss how AmaWaterways consistently develops new innovations and best practices to improve the river cruising experience, and continues to invest in the latest onboard technology. In recent years, AmaWaterways has successfully attracted an increasingly younger demographic, thanks in part to such amenities as complimentary ship-wide Wi-Fi, in-room Infotainment with Internet access and popular Hollywood movies, and bicycle tours and other options for more active shore excursions.

As Europe’s leading river cruise line, AmaWaterways has also undertaken numerous marketing initiatives to better appeal to the ever-evolving travel marketplace, including successful social media, public relations and advertising campaigns. The company already enjoys a well-earned reputation for its extra spacious cabins, exclusive Chaîne des Rôtisseurs culinary creations, complimentary free-flowing fine wine with every dinner, and shore excursions that allow for authentic, in-depth cultural experiences.
