Job Title: River Cruise Specialist - (Head office - Calabasas CA USA)
  • Department: Reservations
  • Reports to: Vice President, Reservations and/or River Cruise Supervisors
  • Location: Head Office (Calabasas, CA, USA)
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create and maintain river cruise, hotel and airfare reservations including: emphasize salable features; accurately respond to questions; quote prices and payment terms; secure reservation options; document special requests; close the sale and process payments.
  • Recommend solutions to overcome client objections and to address travel partner and guest concerns.
  • Make outbound lead follow-up telephone calls and email to qualify leads and sell our products.
  • Provide superior customer service in all interactions with travel agency partners, guests and internal partners.
Other skills, abilities, qualifications, and minimum requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with travel agency partners, guests and internal partners.
  • Ability to acquire detailed knowledge of the company's products and services to assist towards maximizing sales.
  • Strong sales ability with attention to detail and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to quickly learn internal reservations booking system and supporting systems.
  • Strong computer skills with basic MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Strong desire to exceed guest expectations.
  • Previous call center, airline, cruise line, or travel industry experience (particularly working with professional travel agents) preferred.

Job Title: Copywriter - (Head office - Calabasas CA USA)

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following
  • Writes copy for print pieces such as advertisements, brochures, flyers and other collateral as needed.
  • Writes copy for digital media such as eblasts, social media, websites and newsletters.
  • Develops concepts for ads, eblasts and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Develops and maintains product knowledge.
  • Conducts independent research and develops sources for all product-related communication.
  • Completes other marketing and writing projects as needed.
Minimum requirements:
  • Creative and versatile.
  • Previous marketing experience.
  • Experience writing copy for a variety of marketing materials, including ads, eblasts, and other pieces.
  • Highly organized, high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

We are currently recruiting for a Marketing Analyst to join the Strategic Marketing Department at our corporate office in Calabasas, CA.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Performs in-depth quantitative analyses to support and understand the company’s marketing strategy and initiatives.
  • Collects, organizes and analyzes large data sets from disparate sources.
  • Analyzes booking trends, pricing strategies, promotions, consumer data, etc. on an ongoing basis to discover new strategies and optimization methods.
  • Translates complex data sets into actionable initiatives and present results to management in a clear, concise manner.
  • Consistently uses data and analysis to evaluate and support all ongoing projects and strategies.
  • Works closely with the Director and Vice President of the Strategic Marketing department to perform requested analyses.
  • Proposes and performs exploratory analyses and variations of existing analyses to bring to light additional learnings and trends.
  • Generates routine reports, analyses, and summaries as needed.
  • Performs other ad hoc projects as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an analyst in a quantitative analysis role.
  • Demonstrated experience and success with synthesizing and analyzing large data sets from disparate sources.
  • 4-year degree in a related field.
  • Expert level proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Access skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with data mining.
  • Knowledge of SPSS, SAS, or other statistical packages a plus.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, highly organized and able to adapt to rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to perform well with unknowns and lots of variables.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports, data warehousing and business intelligence tools a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM a plus.

  • Manages, organizes, and coordinates the timely production and print of marketing collateral
  • Contributes creatively to enhance and optimize existing marketing collateral
  • Coordinates and track sourcing and print orders
  • Liaises with other departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information
  • Oversees optimization and personalization of marketing collateral (e.g. travel documents) with processes like system integration and automation
  • Monitors and maintains website content
  • Updates marketing materials using Adobe InDesign and other applicable software
  • Liaises external contacts as needed
  • Contributes to ongoing and new marketing campaigns and strategy
  • Contributes to existing and new website content
  • Uses organization skills to maintain calendar of important events and projects

  • Oversees all sales of company products through face-to-face contact, mailings, telemarketing projects, group training seminars, product presentations and trade shows focused on current and prospective travel agents, consortia and group contacts and tour organizers.
  • Delivers timely customer service to all product inquiries, collateral and co-op requests.
  • Initiates activities to motivate travel agents to sell AmaWaterways products.
