Job Title: River Cruise Specialist - (Head office - Calabasas CA USA)
  • Department: Reservations
  • Reports to: Vice President, Reservations and/or River Cruise Supervisors
  • Location: Head Office (Calabasas, CA, USA)
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create and maintain river cruise, hotel and airfare reservations including: emphasize salable features; accurately respond to questions; quote prices and payment terms; secure reservation options; document special requests; close the sale and process payments.
  • Recommend solutions to overcome client objections and to address travel partner and guest concerns.
  • Make outbound lead follow-up telephone calls and email to qualify leads and sell our products.
  • Provide superior customer service in all interactions with travel agency partners, guests and internal partners.
Other skills, abilities, qualifications, and minimum requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with travel agency partners, guests and internal partners.
  • Ability to acquire detailed knowledge of the company's products and services to assist towards maximizing sales.
  • Strong sales ability with attention to detail and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to quickly learn internal reservations booking system and supporting systems.
  • Strong computer skills with basic MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Strong desire to exceed guest expectations.
  • Previous call center, airline, cruise line, or travel industry experience (particularly working with professional travel agents) preferred.

Job Title: Business Development Manager - (Head office - Calabasas CA USA)
  • Department: Field Sales
  • Reports to: Director, Field Sales
  • Location: Head Office (Central-South Region)
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develops strong relationships with travel agencies throughout the assigned region.
  • Generates sales from travel agents, wholesalers and group customers in the assigned territory.
  • Develops new business opportunities, maintains and enhances relationships with all new and existing customers assigned.
  • Achieves established revenue goals within the budget.
  • Oversees all sales of company products through face-to-face contact, mailings, telemarketing projects, group training seminars, product presentations and trade shows focused on current and prospective travel agents, consortia and group contacts and tour organizers.
  • Delivers timely customer service to all product inquiries, collateral and co-op requests.
  • Initiates activities to motivate travel agents to sell AmaWaterways products.
  • Gives, receives, and analyzes information, formulates work plans, and prepares written materials, and articulates goals and action plans.
  • Exhibits strong negotiation skills.
  • Counsels and sells all appropriate company programs, products, and services to assigned customer base.
  • Communicates with management as required or needed.
  • Strives to attain all goals and objectives as outlined by Director.
  • Maintains a regular call schedule, with daily customer contact, and manages the territory assigned to enhance sales and profitability of the company.
  • Markets new programs, and instructs customers on industry or company changes, as well as, training of new products.
  • Provides management with filed knowledge and examples of competitive programs, services, sales techniques, and products to enhance our company offerings.

  • 7+ years’ experience
